Demolition of the Camp

In 1995, the city demolished many of the camp buildings.  This included the Kitchen, Nurse’s Building, Locker Room & all pool buildings, all cabin buildings – except one in each unit area, Garages, Jr. & Sr. A&C, Pottery, Photography, Nature, Mini-Golf and the Tennis Court.

There were several surprises in terms of what was demolished and what was not.  The Paddleball Wall was retained for some unknown reason; and the Muppet playground was removed despite its future viability. Also surprising was the decision to excavate and remove the pools – rather than just filling them in.

There is a complete set of photos documenting the demolition.  They will be added later.
